SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon has been fortunate to see an influx of new volunteers become certified as SCORE mentors since the beginning of the year. Paul Trunk joined Chapter 16 in January and has already stepped up to take a role on the Executive Leadership team. He leads the Member Services Committee, which oversees volunteer recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention, to continue advancing the SCORE mission within Lancaster and Lebanon Counties

Our Volunteers Are The Lifeblood of SCORE

Paul Trunk brings a professional lifetime of executive experience to the service of our SCORE clients. After receiving his BA in Business from Saint Mary's University of  Minnesota, Paul earned an MBA in Business from DePaul University in Chicago. This launched a career that began in Sales with Panduit and culminated when Paul retired as the President/General Manager of the global company Berk-Tek.

"My professional background included formal training and ‘real-life’ training focused on coaching employees' individual development.  Half of my career was spent learning about people and motivational techniques to help people exceed their goals. I developed my own leadership style. Leading teams to achieve their targets is what I love to do."

Sharing Talents & Expertise To Help Foster Growth

Like many SCORE mentors, Paul Trunk is using his time and talents after retirement to give back to his community. The volunteer spirit had deep roots throughout Paul's life.

"I was shaped by my parents and how they gave back. I firmly believe we all have a moral obligation to utilize our talents and good fortune to help others who may not have the same benefits.  I like knowing I might make a positive difference in someone's life.  It's very gratifying to see a person develop with a little coaching and support.”

Paul learned about SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon through his contact with Chapter Chair Kevin Saint Cyr.

"At the time, I was not aware of the SCORE organization's Mission. I now understand the scope of influence mentors can have on individuals and the community. I am still relatively new to the organization.  However, I am impressed with the dedication of all the volunteers I have met ( via video!) and their focus on their clients' path to success. I have helped my own clients as they start their own "new business" journey.  Exciting!"
