Dr. John Anderson has been President of Millersville University for the past five years. Upon the announcement of his upcoming retirement Millersville University Chancellor Frank T. Brogan noted, “Dr. Anderson has led Millersville University during some very challenging times and has done so with integrity and an entrepreneurial spirit.”
That entrepreneurial spirit has served SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon well during the years that Dr. Anderson served on our Advisory Board.
“Dr. John M. Anderson’s reputation and record of community involvement preceded his arrival as the 14th President of Millersville University and SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon was almost immediately on his doorstep to ask him to serve on its Advisory Board. His strong belief in, and support of, entrepreneurship were indications of a strong match with the mission and values of SCORE and we were greatly pleased when Dr. Anderson accepted our request to join our Advisory Board. Over the years, Dr. Anderson spearheaded a true partnership between the University and the Lancaster-Lebanon SCORE Chapter, one that has seen a continuity of senior university staff involvement on the Advisory Board and a University/SCORE partnership aimed at growing and improving the student internship program and experience. We are deeply indebted to Dr. John Anderson for his time, valuable counsel, and support he has given to SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon throughout his tenure.”
- Robert S. Bewley, President of SCORE Lancaster- Lebanon
Dr. Anderson’s influence was felt at all levels of SCORE Chapter 16 and can be seen most evidently each year in the transformation of our Small Business Awards Luncheon into a major annual fundraiser for our mission. Millersville University is also a continuing sponsor of our SCORE workshops that assist start-ups and promising young entrepreneurs each year.
“In keeping with Millersville University’s commitment to entrepreneurs and life-long learning, Dr. John Anderson’s instances of support and advocacy for SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon are countless. I shall always be grateful for his recommendation that I become involved with SCORE Chapter 16. It has brought me innumerable opportunities to contribute to the entrepreneurial community and to witness the positive effects that Dr. Anderson’s support has brought to the Chapter. Beyond the generous financial, grant partnership and in-kind donations from the university, as an active member of the Advisory Board Dr. Anderson’s positive impact on SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon and Lancaster’s entrepreneurial community will be enduring.”
