Tricia Nabors, Executive Director of New Choices, was looking to take her organization to the next level. As one of the best kept secrets in Lancaster County for over two decades, New Choices Career Development commits to assisting single mothers, displaced homemakers, and women in transition in achieving economic self-sufficiency.
Tricia reached out to SCORE for mentoring and guidance on how best to move New Choices forward. She quickly built a prosperous mentoring relationship with SCORE mentor Jerry Glenn.
According to Tricia, “Jerry Glenn has been a tremendous support. He is very often my voice of reason, especially in the face of my distress and a sounding board when needed. He has helped me build an Advisory Board, create roles/responsibilities, and ensures that I am accountable in doing what I say I will.” Jerry has also aided in aligning the tasks Tricia plans to complete.
Jerry Glenn has truly helped New Choices gain community recognition as an organization that directly benefits the greater good of Lancaster County and beyond. “We are indebted to SCORE and Jerry Glenn for all of their unrelenting support and guidance over the past several years,” Tricia explains.
Mentor Jerry Glenn was glowing in his praise of Tricia and the progress she has made during their mentoring partnership. “She has learned how to better manage and motivate employees,” he says. “She has learned how to build her yearly budget and expenses, as well as creating an Advisory Board to assist her. Tricia has matures and grown in her job!”
New Choices is one of many wonderful success stories SCORE has taken part in over the years.
