SCORE

The Sixth Floor at The Candy Factory proved the perfect setting for a SCORE Lancaster – Lebanon “Lunch & Learn” recently. The subject “Tax Tips for Small Business” was a lightning rod for interest in the presentation by special guest speaker Susanne Dombrowski, CPA, PFS and Principal of Bazella Dombrowski & Co CPA. After a quick round of “How many here are?” Susanne quickly established that the room was filled with sole proprietors, S Corps, LLCs, and independent contractors, all eager to learn best practices for tax season, and any predictions regarding the new tax regulations for 2018.

Susanne fielded a host of question that many small business owners have, among them were:

What is, and what is not a legitimate business expense

How to report income to part-time employees

Best practices for reporting independent contractors (get W-9 form)

But, as expected, the majority of the time was spent discussing the new tax law which begins in 2018.  Susanne explained many of the differences between the old tax code and the new one for both the business & personal tax changes.  This resulted in a lively conversation and very enlightening exchange. Essential point was that Susanne believes we will have more disposable income as a result of these tax changes.

We look forward to more engaging & informative SCORE Lancaster – Lebanon “Lunch & Learn” events this year. Make sure you don’t miss news about our next event. Sign up for our monthly newsletter for updates delivered to your inbox at: https://goo.gl/21KiMg
