Working for a large corporation, Jerry Glenn was asked to move often, both here in the US, as well as in Europe, "I never had time to really give back to my community which I believe to be very important," he says. When he retired and moved back to the states, specifically Lancaster, PA, he finally found the opportunity to pay back his community by volunteering as a SCORE Mentor.
Jerry has been a SCORE member since 2005, counseling a varitey of clients from manufacturers, contractors and retailers, to nonprofits, and many small business startups.
"My father was a SCORE volunteer for 20 years in Arkansas so I had an idea of how SCORE could impact a community," he explains. "The pride and satisfaction that I am helping our community to become a better place to work and live by helping businesses and nonprofits grow and prosper is one of the chief benefits of volunteering for SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon."
Jerry's experience as a SCORE volunteer mentor has given him the opportunity to work with the cadre of SCORE volunteers that are all striving for the same thing...to help small businesses be successful, "The personal involvement and relationships with so many SCORE clients and the wonderful satisfaction of seeing a business be successful due, in small measure, to my involvement has been a surprising and positive experience."
